Severfield’s Phillipa Recchia
Congratulations from everyone at ARMS Ltd to Severfield’s Group SHE Director for being named one of the top 100 most influential women in engineering. We have worked with Phillipa since 2006 and have also appreciated the exceptional skills and determination that she brings to every role and challenge she accepts. Thoroughly deserved.
Programme launch – SGRE Denmark
A really exciting start to SGRE’s Borssele wind farm safety culture programme. Our first step was to bring together EHS professionals from Siemens Gamesa and the pre assembly supply chain in Vejle, Denmark, to discuss the principles and techniques of behaviour change. Some of the myths and misunderstandings of effective behaviour change are being exposed and everyone is settling on a way forwards that is both practical and based on proven behavioural science. This is SGRE’s chance to make sure they get this right from the start and are able to fully engage with the site team and contracting partners to achieve the best possible safety performance on the Borssele project. Exciting times!

Tilbury Green Power work with ARMS Ltd
ARMS Ltd are delighted to be working with Tilbury Green Power (TGP). TGP is a renewable power plant fuelled by waste wood, within the Port of Tilbury on the banks of the River Thames.
The Plant has a capacity of around 40 megawatts (MW) and produces up to 319,000 MWh of renewable electricity each year – enough to supply around 97,000 average homes, and will play a valuable role in the UK meeting its target for producing 20% of its energy from renewable sources.
In this photo you can see the three organisations involved with the plant, TGP, WBOC and Stobart Biomass working together to create their shared vision for safety and the underpinning values and behaviours that will create a strong and positive safety culture.
Living Case Study – Safety Leadership
Here is Dr Connie Wiskin of ARMS Ltd setting the scene for one of our bespoke living case studies, bringing safety leadership ‘to life’. The management from Severfield plc have found the insight that the ARMS team have brought to this subject of huge value and with the processes already in place throughout the organisation their safety culture goes from strength to strength.
Ashalim power station in Israel goes live!
ARMS Ltd are proud that the Ashalim solar power station in the Negev Desert in Israel has now gone live. It has the tallest solar power tower in the world at 250m, concentrating over 50,000 computer-controlled heliostats and will provide 259 MW of electricity, while the solar tower will provide 121 MW per year.
Alstom renewables’/GE’s commitment to safety during the construction phase was first class and we were proud to work with the site during this period. Well done to the whole site construction team from everyone at ARMS Ltd.
